Every time I work with different folx I take a moment to be grateful. Grateful for how I feel safe, how much better I feel when I go for a walk each day or explore a new area of my community, and for the communities I am in both virtually and physically. This not possible without the land that I currently reside on - the lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, and Mississaugas of the Credit. These are the local nations of Indigenous peoples, and are a part of the many nations and indigenous communities that are across Turtle Island and around the world.

As a person of settler descent who is non-Indigenous, it is important for me to locate myself to be starting point for acknowledging my own colonial histories, the ongoing displacement of Indigenous peoples and communities, and to intentionally be an ally in meaningful ways through reconciliation and anti-racism.
